Gift Card Scam Warning: Scammers are increasingly tricking people into buying gift cards by pretending to be employers, government agencies, businesses, or even online romantic partners. Remember, no legitimate organisation will ever ask for payment using gift cards. If you're asked to buy gift cards unexpectedly, stop, verify the request, and be scam aware.

While some supermarkets and petrol stations are now required to accept cash, most businesses can legally choose not to, provided they clearly inform customers before a sale. If a business charges a card surcharge, it must reflect the actual cost of processing the payment. Always check payment options before making a purchase.
