While some supermarkets and petrol stations are now required to accept cash, most businesses can legally choose not to, provided they clearly inform customers before a sale. If a business charges a card surcharge, it must reflect the actual cost of processing the payment. Always check payment options before making a purchase.

Banned toys containing small magnets found online

Consumer Protection is warning about banned toys and games containing small, high-powered magnets that have been found for sale online. These magnets can cause serious injuries if swallowed, particularly by children. If you have recently purchased a magnetic toy or chess-style game with loose magnets, stop using it immediately and keep it out of children's reach.
