There’s a special kind of smile we see at the Bridgetown CRC—and it usually appears right after someone says, “Oh! That makes sense now!”
For many people, technology can feel overwhelming at first. New devices, unfamiliar apps, passwords, updates… it’s easy to feel left behind. But here at the CRC, we get to witness something pretty wonderful every week—the moment when it all clicks into place.

It might be learning how to send that first email to a grandchild, finally understanding online banking, or successfully joining a video call without stress. Sometimes it’s something small, like saving a photo or opening a document—but those small victories feel big. And they are.
What makes the difference?
A bit of time. A bit of patience. And someone sitting beside you, ready to help.
Every Thursday between 1pm and 3pm, our Digital Skills Sessions become a hub of curiosity, laughter, and discovery. Around the room, you’ll find people at all different stages—complete beginners, those brushing up on skills, and others just needing help with one specific thing. No pressure, no judgment—just a friendly space to learn.
We’ve helped many happy locals:
Get confident using their phones and computers
Stay connected with family and friends
Access important services online
Discover new interests and hobbies
Trouble shoot technical issues
And most importantly, feel capable again
There’s often a ripple effect too. Someone who learns a new skill one week comes back the next, helping someone else or sharing what they’ve discovered. It’s community in action—and it’s something we’re very proud of.
At the CRC, we believe technology should open doors, not create barriers. And with a bit of support and encouragement, it absolutely can.
So if you—or someone you know—have ever felt stuck, unsure, or just curious about technology, come along. You might be surprised how quickly things begin to make sense… and how good it feels when they do.
Join us every Thursday, 1–3pm, for Digital Skills Sessions at the Bridgetown CRC. We’d love to help you have your own “aha!” moment.
